All seeds already contain nutrients that supply the seedling completely with essential minerals in the initial phase. When germinating, the very first "embryonic" leaves, the cotyledons, open and give the plant energy to build up the roots and the green parts. Only when the germ leaves are fully used (they dry out and shrivel up) will the plant begin to take up nutrients from the substrate. From that point onwards, you can start fertilising.

ABOUT FERTILISERS
