CalMag
FOR PERFECT MINERAL BALANCE
Plants need a balanced supply of minerals to grow strong and healthy. When using soft, demineralised, or reverse osmosis (RO) water, important minerals such as calcium and magnesium are often missing. Hesi CalMag replenishes these nutrients and ensures that plants receive the mineral balance they need for stable growth.
Calcium strengthens the plant’s cell walls and supports a solid plant structure, as well as transmissions of important signals. Magnesium is an essential component of chlorophyll and therefore vital for photosynthesis. Together they help plants absorb nutrients efficiently and maintain healthy, deep green leaves. Hesi CalMag can be used in soil, hydroponics and coco substrates and is especially useful in modern cultivation systems and LED growing environments, where plants may require additional calcium and magnesium.
It's Hesi's mineral balance in a bottle!
Hesi CalMag buffers soft water and supports healthy plant development in all growth stages – from cuttings to flowering.
- Suitable for soil, hydro and coco cultivation (e.g. coco substrate buffering)
- Ideal for soft water and RO water
- Compatible with manual and automatic irrigation systems
Recommended dosage for soft water:
- Add CalMag to the water until a conductivity (EC) of 0.4 or 0.5 mS/cm is reached.
- For distilled or reverse osmosis water with an EC of 0, the dosage is 3–4 ml/5L.
- For soft tap water, use a smaller amount depending on the initial EC value.
Dosage according to the desired calcium and magnesium levels:
- Every 10 ml to 50 L of water increases the MgO level by +15 mg/L (as to +9 mg/L Mg) and the CaO level by +10 mg/L (as to +7 mg/L Ca).
- Every 50 ml to 100 L of water increases the MgO level by +38 mg/L (as to +23 mg/L Mg) and the CaO level by +25 mg/L (as to +18 mg/L Ca).
- Supplies plants with essential calcium and magnesium
- Supports strong cell walls and healthy green leaves
- Helps prevent rot and fungal infection
Hesi CalMag is available in the following sizes:
- 250 ml
- 500 ml
- 1 L
- 2,5 L
- 5 L
- 10 L
DID YOU KNOW?
Have you heard that calcium and magnesium aren’t that important? We will debunk that here and now!
Calcium strengthens cell walls and helps plants respond quickly to stress. Magnesium is the core of chlorophyll, the pigment that makes photosynthesis possible. So while they’re called “secondary nutrients,” there’s nothing secondary about their role in plant health - it's essential.
